1969: The Ypsilanti Ripper adds a fifth victim to his roster
Dawn Louise Basom, 13, was having a normal day in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She’d gone to school, had dinner at home with her mother and brother, and now she was looking for something to do.
She went next door to her sister’s house to complain of boredom—classic teenager!—and so her brother-in-law drove her to see a couple of friends, telling her that she didn’t have long to hang out since it was almost dark.
