1987: El Paso teenager Melissa Alaniz goes missing
In early March 1987, Melissa Alaniz was about to turn thirteen, and like most teenagers, she was starting to clash with her parents. Her family said she was going through a bit of a rebellion and had started hanging out with some unsavory types.
